Catholic Charities offers two programs: Foster Care and Foster-Adopt.
The Foster Care Program...
serves children ages newborn to 18 years old who length of stay in foster care rangers from one day to emancipation. Catholic Charities works with all county human services departments in Colorado to provide foster care placements for children in need.
Within the program we offer:
- Short-term respite care of a child who already has a full-time foster placement. A respite family helps foster parents by caring for a child for a few hours to a few days.
- Temporary Foster Care families meet the daily needs of children who are without a safe home. The time these children remain in foster care homes varies.
The Foster-Adopt Program...
exists for families interested in adopting children who are in foster care. Catholic Charities places children in foster-adopt homes when the county is looking for a permanent placement. These children may already be legally free at the time of placement or may become legally free for adoption after placed.
