Global Solidarity - Global Solidarity Committee Member
- Educate, engage and connect others in the parish and provide opportunities for them to fulfill their moral responsibilities toward our global brothers and sisters by helping the poor
- working to remove the causes of poverty
- promoting social justice.
Community Organizing and Community Development
- Family Mentor— Help and support a family as they work to achieve their goals, decrease isolation, and develop and achieve stability in their neighborhood.
- Community Organizer’s Assistant— Assist the Community Organizer in various tasks with organizing congregations and schools.
- Inform and encourage others towards action regarding various legislative opportunities that seek to protect the marginalized
- build a more just society and otherwise uphold the ideals of Catholic Charities.
- Emergency Assistance Intake Worker—Interview clients requesting assistance and evaluate their situation and needs. Determine if the center is able to assist them and refer clients to other resources in the community.
- Grant Writer— Manage the process of supplying progress reports when required by the grant-making organizations already funding Catholic Charities, and research and apply for grants that may fund either general operating costs or special projects.
- Jail Visitor—Carry out Jesus’ commission to visit those in prison, to provide a listening ear for the lonely, and to give the prisoner a sense of self-respect and worth.
