The Father Ed Judy House
Catholic Charities Father Ed Judy House (FEJH) was established to meet the increasing need of short term housing for women and their children. Our group-home style program is located on the Fort Logan Campus and is the next step forward for families who are preparing to move into more stable housing.
Our program is able to work with eight families, up to thirty people total, through case management and other supportive services.
For the mothers who are 18 years old and older and their children, ages 12 and younger, we provide 24-hour staffing, meals, a savings program, toiletries and other basic needs, a children’s program and parenting support. Most of our referrals come from emergency shelters.
There is a weekly life skills group for the women that cover a variety of topics including identifying an abuser, budgeting, self-esteem, and landlord / tenant issues.
We offer a mother and child play group (a collaboration with Samaritan House), which increases the mothers’ knowledge about engaging their children in positive play; GED tutoring for our moms who need to obtain their GED; and computer training.
